Inclusion
Accessibility & inclusion
How Dora supports people with disabilities, different learning needs, and assistive technology.
Accessibility overview
InclusionOur commitment
Dora is built for families, schools, and clinicians navigating sensitive screening journeys. We aim to make the experience clear, respectful, and usable for as many people as possible—including users who are blind or have low vision, are Deaf or hard of hearing, have motor or cognitive disabilities, or prefer larger text and calmer motion.
Display & reading options
Use the Accessibility button at the bottom-right of any page to open quick settings. Your choices are saved on your device.
- Text size — default, large, or extra large.
- High contrast — stronger text and borders for easier reading.
- Underline links — makes links easier to spot.
- Reduce motion — limits animations and transitions.
- Hide images — hides photos and illustrations while keeping controls and icons usable.
- Cursor size — default, large, or extra large pointer.
- Colour saturation — default, low, or high (can reduce visual intensity or strengthen colour contrast).
- Read aloud — uses your browser’s built-in voice to read the page or text you select (turn on the switch, then use Read this page or Read selection).
Display options use switches instead of checkboxes for clearer on/off control. We also respect your system preference for reduced motion when you have not turned on the manual setting.
Typeface
Dora uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed for legibility and character distinction—helpful for readers with low vision or dyslexia.
Keyboard & screen readers
You can move through the site with a keyboard. A Skip to main content link appears when you press Tab from the top of the page. Interactive controls include labels for assistive technologies where possible. If you use a screen reader and hit a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it.
Guided screening & reports
Conversational screening and reports are written in plain language. Reports can be downloaded as PDFs. If you need a different format (for example, larger print or a structured summary), contact support and we will do our best to help.
Ongoing work
We are working toward better alignment with recognized accessibility standards (including WCAG 2.2). Some older pages or PDF exports may not yet meet every guideline. We welcome feedback from disabled users and accessibility specialists.
Request accommodations
If you need help using Dora, or want to report an accessibility barrier, contact us through the support page. Please describe the page, what you were trying to do, and any assistive technology you use.
